Torrefaction Design
Torrefaction, is thermal pretreatment of biomass that improves its energy density, reduces its oxygen-to-carbon (O/C) ratio, and reduces its hygroscopic nature. It is carried out in a temperature range of 230 to 300 °C in the absence of oxygen.
